You will expand It’s-Yer-Choice and Crate Games to help set boundaries and improve control. You will strengthen your dog’s understanding of “Sit” and “Down” through longer duration, harder distractions and from longer distances. Recalls will also be proofed with greater distance and distraction and, once your loose-leash walking with distractions has been mastered, you will be introduced to off-leash work! In addition to many other skills, you will be cueing your dog to a mat or bed from long ranges and teaching him/her to maintain that behavior with increased duration and distraction as well as teaching him/her to calmly greet people and dogs.

PREREQUISITE: Must have completed Think Pawsitive’s Beginner Puppy School, Adult Manners or Canine IQ Camp.

Class Dates are the start of a 4-week session.

During this class we will extend the skills you learned in Please to Meet You! You will work through proofing your dog’s understanding of the exercises that were taught and practiced in the first two classes. We will evolve into structured set-ups to help work through normal, everyday distractions such as: food, toys, various people and working in close proximity to other dogs that you and your dog may encounter in your everyday life experiences. Throughout the exercises we will look at what is motivating your dog, how we can change their perspective, and what you can do to ensure they will respond with excellent choices when meeting people and or being around other dogs no matter what environment is presented to them!

PREREQUISITE: Must have completed both weeks of Pleased to Meet You! at Think Pawsitive. Please register for the two week class you wish to attend.

Class Dates are the start of a 2-week session.

Do you and your dog find joy in playing with a Frisbee? Join us for a four-week series focusing on the activity of K9 Disc! Each week you will be learning a new disc game and playing it in class. Various skills will be implemented into the game to improve your throwing, timing, and communication with your canine teammate. This class combines learning and playing and is suitable for dogs who are already showing drive for a disc. PREREQUISITE: Must have completed the Beginner Canine Disc Workshop or gain instructor approval. Please register for each individual week you wish to attend.
Do you wish you could get your dog tired or to relax for a few hours when you come home from a long day? Teaching your dog how to play will expend pent-up energy and help him to be calm and relaxed in your house. Maybe you would like having a dog that loves to play with toys to help benefit training for a canine sport such as Disc Dog, Flyball, Agility, etc. Many dogs, however, need help in learning to interactively play with toys. We will teach your dog to enjoy playing with toys and teach you to use them to motivate your dog in training, to keep your dog focused on you in distracting environments, and to use them for daily exercise. In short, we will teach you how to PLAY! We will cover how to find stimulating toys, how to develop chase behavior, retrieving/fetching, proper bite, tugging, how to safely toss and catch a disc (frisbee), and so much more. If your dog has interest in specific toys, please bring them along to the class. The more the merrier! Remember to think outside the realm of just dog toys. Anything your dog has passion, interest or desire for may be used (e.g., water bottles, fly swatters, leashes, etc.). Be sure to bring a rested dog as this class will give you a lot of active working opportunities!

PREREQUISITE: This class is suitable for dogs of all ages.

Class Dates are the start of a 1-week session.
