ONLINE Nose Work – Intro to Scent

Have you ever watched a crime-sniffing dog on TV and thought, “I wonder if my dog could do that?”  The answer is YES!  Your dog has 300 million “olfactory sensors” and in Nose Work I, we teach you and your dog how to find scents through a variety of fun activities. Dogs of any age, from young puppies to older dogs, and of any training level can be successful in learning scent detection.  It is an extremely fun and fascinating activity that will help build your dog’s confidence as they work through “scent games” and get rewarded for using their nose!
Benefits of Nose Work are:

  • Teaches your dog a fun activity that can be done anywhere
  • Shy or fearful dogs build confidence and overactive dogs put their energy to work
  • Builds a stronger bond between you and your dog

Students may progress to Nose Work I: Basic Searches (in-person or online) upon completion of this course.

This class is run exclusively ONLINE!  Your class will be set up in an online Facebook training group where you will be coached and mentored on how to get started in the sport of Canine Nose Work.  This class will also meet via Zoom for one class!  We will be posting videos and notes for each lesson to aid with your practice and to refer back to.

This group will remain open for viewing for 60-days from the start of the class.  Once payment is received, we will invite you to join the training group!

The Online Nose Work – Intro to Scent class begins when you have joined the online Facebook group. Once you have accessed the group, you are committed to attending the remainder of the session and your class fee is non-refundable. Think Pawsitive prides it-self in offering the best possible learning environment to uphold quality standards in our curriculum. Registration for this online class reserves your spot in this class. If you are unable to begin the class and have not joined the supplemental Facebook group, an in-store credit may be issued with 2 weeks notice prior to the class start date. No refunds will be given within 2 weeks of the class start date.

Think Pawsitive Dog Training LLC is not responsible for missed sessions and does not accommodate makeup sessions. Your Facebook group will remain active with access to materials for 60-days from the start of the class.

If you need additional assistance while enrolled in this online class, you may choose one of the following options:

Refund Policy

Retail Return Policy:

At this time, all retail sales are final.  No returns will be accepted.

Agreement and Waiver:

Think Pawsitive Dog Training LLC reserves the right to deny or refuse a dog because of a safety issue with other dogs or employees. Dogs will be denied for people or dog aggression or physical illness. All Dogs entering or exiting Think Pawsitive Dog Training LLC must be on a 6-foot leash or in a travel kennel. Participant agrees to maintain full control over his/her dog, and accepts full responsibility.

Full payment must be made at the time of registration in order to hold a spot in the class. All class fees are due by the start of the first class and are non-refundable or transferable once the class begins, lecture is attended or Week 1 virtual lecture email has been received.  If you need to cancel or transfer your registration prior to the start of the class, we require two weeks notice from the first class or you will be charged for the entire segment of the class. Beginner Puppy School and Adult Manners class lectures are considered the start of the first class.  There will be a $35.00 charge for all returned checks due to insufficient funds. There will be a $5.00 processing charge for all refunds. Acceptable forms of payment are Visa, Master Card, check or cash.  Prices and dates are subject to change without notice.

Registrations are accepted online, via phone and in person. Due to this, our online stock quantity is not guaranteed for classes, workshops and events. Registrations are accepted in the order received. If a class, workshop or event fills prior to your registration, we will transfer your registration to the next available date and notify you of the change.
This cancellation and refund policy applies to clients/students that must withdraw for any reason including but not limited to injury, illness, emergency, and personal or work-related reasons.

Think Pawsitive Dog Training LLC is not responsible for missed sessions and cannot accommodate makeup sessions. If you need to miss a class date, you may choose to schedule an optional private lesson with one of our instructors to catch up on missed work (NOTE: Additional private lesson fees apply). For classes that provide weekly homework handouts, you may stop in to pick them up at any time the facility is open during the week.

Participant recognizes the inherent risk associated with dog training or swimming a dog and realizes that a dog is a creature capable of and given to independent action. Participant assumes the entire risk and responsibility for property damage and personal injury, harm, or death that may occur to themselves or any guest they bring with them as a result of the actions or inactions of participant, another person, or certain canine behaviors included, but not limited to, biting, knocking over, jumping upon, transmittable diseases, or unpredictable reactions to drugs or medications whether caused by participant’s dog or the dogs of other participants.

Participant agrees to fully release and forever discharges Think Pawsitive Dog Training LLC, its agents and employees, from any and all claims for loss, damage or injury to your dog(s) while in the care or on the premises of Think Pawsitive Dog Training LLC facility. This encompasses while participating in any and all services or activities provided including (but not limited to) dog training, seminars, pool use, dog wash, rental of facility areas/equipment or any other services or activities on the premises. Participant affirms that his/her dog is current on all required vaccinations. This includes: Rabies, Distemper-Parvo, Bordatella (optional) and flea control. Your dog(s) must be free from infections, parasites, and contagious or transmissible diseases.

Participant gives Think Pawsitive Dog Training LLC permission to use his/her photo/recording/video/likeness in any marketing and/or promotional materials including: flyers, newsletters, social media postings, publications, marketing pieces, the Think Pawsitive Dog Training website and Facebook page, YouTube videos, and any other advertising, marketing, or public relations materials. Participant grants consent to the use of images or recordings for promotional materials and releases Think Pawsitive Dog Training LLC from any liability in connection with the taking, producing, or publication of the photos, images, videos, or recordings.

Participant understands that all of the above stated materials are the sole property of Think Pawsitive Dog Training LLC and hereby forever releases and discharges Think Pawsitive Dog Training LLC from any claims, actions, damages, liabilities, or costs relating to the use of these materials.

Workshop Refund and Cancellation Policy: In order to hold a working spot for a workshop/seminar, you must submit full payment. Should you have to cancel, we will refund 50% of your payment if we can fill the spot. There will be no refunds for cancellations within one week of the workshop/seminar start date.

PLEASE NOTE: The use of crates and crate games are a significant part of our curriculum. Both treat and toy rewards are used extensively to reinforce dogs for desired behaviors.
