This workshop will be held outside, rain or shine. Dogs will be crated in their own vehicle while they wait for their turn.
For the dogs (and us), nose work is fun, but exterior and vehicle searches are the most fun of all! This workshop is great for beginner nose work handlers new to exteriors or vehicle searching or for handlers that want a better understanding of learning more about hide placement outdoors.
Being outside presents a whole new level of difficulty. Teams will be introduced to outdoor environmental factors that affect odor hides and will learn how to train through these challenges. In this workshop, you will learn how to properly place hides to teach your dog the elements of exterior and vehicle searches. Searching the exterior of a vehicle (car, truck, trailer, bicycle, etc.) can present fun challenges and puzzles, so proper placement and search patterns will be taught to help you and your dog be successful in your nose work training.
PREREQUISITES: All dogs MUST be on all three odors (Birch, Clove & Anise) and must have completed Nose Work I: Basic Searches or instructor approval.
WORKSHOP DATE: Wednesday, September 9th, 2020 from 6:30pm – 8:30pm
