Canine Agility Jump Training with Susan Salo – Seminar Details

Foundation Jumping (and Puppies)
You will learn the six separate components that compromise the performance of jumping and the importance of having a specific methodology in place for teaching
your dog the mechanics of good jumping. Susan will expose you to several Foundation Grids with which you and your dog will practice these components under her
watchful eye. At the foundation level, there is initially no motion from the handler. You will either be recalling or sending the dog to a target. NOTE: Puppies will be
using jump bumps in their modified grids.
PREREQUISITES: None
DATE: October 25-26, 2019
TIME: 9 AM – 4 PM with a one-hour break for lunch
COST: Two full days for $300 (Working-14 max.) and $80 (Audit)

Grids for Contacts
If your dog is struggling with keeping consistent foot work in striding over the up
contact of the dog walk, hitting the down contact on either the A-Frame or Dog-
Walk, or maintaining balance and stability on the See-Saw, this is a great seminar
to help your dog’s understanding of proper performance of these obstacles.
Susan Salo’s vast knowledge of canine movement and footwork gave rise to her
development of the grids that she will apply directly to the performance of contact
equipment throughout this seminar.
PREREQUISITES: Completion of Foundation Jumping with Susan Salo, Think Pawsitive Jump Grids Classes or Instructor Approval. Must be able to perform the See-Saw, A-Frame and Dog-Walk at full height.
DATE: Sunday, October 27, 2019
TIME: 9 AM – 12 PM
COST: $100 (Working-12 max.) and $20 (Audit)

Grids for Weave Poles
Does your dog skip poles or have difficulty hitting weave pole entries at speed?
Does your dog negotiate weave poles slowly? Would you like to improve your
dog’s confidence in weave pole execution? If you answered yes to any of these
questions this seminar is perfect for you and your dog. It will focus primarily on
the dog’s task of using correct foot placement to properly enter, execute, and
complete the weave poles. Susan Salo’s grids will aid your dog in rehearsing more
balance and fluidity in the performance of this obstacle.
PREREQUISITES: Completion of Foundation Jumping with Susan Salo, Think Pawsitive Jump Grids Classes or Instructor Approval. Must be able to perform 6-12 weave poles.
DATE: Sunday, October 27, 2019
TIME: 1 PM – 4 PM
COST: $100 (Working-12 max.) and $20 (Audit)

Grids for Double and Triple Jumps
If you are like many agility teams, the details of performing spread jumps are often
overlooked. This easily leads to a career of managing these obstacles hindering
the handler’s ability to get to their next position. How many times have you heard
an agility competitor yell, “GO BIG”! thinking they are assisting their dog’s
performance on a triple. Wouldn’t it be easier if the dog saw various jumps and
knew exactly what to do to perform them independently and effortlessly?
Here is your chance to learn how to break down the proper performance of these
jumps. Both you and your dog will leave the workshop with a new-found sense of
confidence and the skills necessary to continue your dog’s education.
PREREQUISITES: Completion of Foundation Jumping with Susan Salo, Think Pawsitive Jump Grids Classes or Instructor Approval.
DATE: Monday, October 28, 2019
TIME: 9 AM – 12 PM
COST: $100 (Working-12max.) and $20 (Audit)

Grids for Tire and Broad Jump
As with the Double and Triple, the details of performing the tire and broad jump
are often overlooked. In this seminar, Susan focus primarily on the dog’s task of
using correct foot placement, striding and body mechanics to properly and easily
perform the tire and broad jump. These grids will allow your dog to practice the
performance of these special hurdles with increased balance and elegance.
PREREQUISITES: Completion of Foundation Jumping with Susan Salo, Think Pawsitive Jump Grids Classes or Instructor Approval.
DATE: Monday, October 28, 2019
TIME: 1 PM – 4 PM
COST: $100 (Working-12 max.) and $20(Audit)

Advanced Jumping (Repeaters)
This one-day workshop is an extension of the grid work done in Foundation Jumping. You will continue previous work with Set Point, Bounce, One Stride, Progressive,
and Bending grids and may be exposed to various new grids. If your dog is performing the Foundation grids with stability and speed, Susan may incrementally interject
some handler movement into your exercises.
PREREQUISITES: Completion of Foundation Jumping with Susan Salo, Think Pawsitive Jump Grids Classes or Instructor Approval.
DATE: Tuesday, October 29, 2019
TIME: 9 AM – 4 PM with a one-hour break for lunch
COST: $180 (Working-12 max.) and $40 (Audit)
