    This class builds on and extends the proficiencies and exercises learned in Agility Foundations I. Successful completion of this course prepares you for the special skills classes (Contacts, Weave Poles and Jump Grids) that follow it in the curriculum.     In this class, you will learn techniques and skills for successful contact performance. Consistent execution will be sought by using teeter games, building your understanding of contact end-behavior criteria, and building your dog’s confidence and drive over contacts. Continuing Contacts students will advance their progression on back-chaining to full height contacts, increasing lateral and forward handler movement and proofing their dog’s contact end-behavior with distractions, distance, movement, and speed.     These Double Box exercises will walk you through Greg Derrett's handling foundations and positional cues to help you understand how your position as a handler and the consistency of the handling system you choose will benefit your dog over his/her career.   • Now that you know all the obstacles and handling positional cues, we will prepare you to take your skills to the next level and compete at agility trials. This class is designed to help you understand when and where to apply specific handling cues. Sequences consisting of 8 – 12 obstacles will be analyzed and performed with your dog. Your instructor will help you develop a better understanding of applying these skills in competition.   • In this lecture, Katie will go over the fundamental rules, cues, and maneuvers of the Greg Derrett System of Agility Handling. Terminology will be defined, maneuvers will be discussed and broken down into each component of proper execution (including foot, arm, rotation, acceleration and deceleration work), and positional cues will be identified. You will learn how to properly walk a course to determine the dog’s path, your plan for handling, and how to maintain a balance between path/obstacle focus and handler focus.
