Successful completion of this course prepares you for the special skills classes (Contacts, Weave Poles and Jump Grids) that follow it in the curriculum.     In this class, you will learn techniques and skills for successful contact performance. Consistent execution will be sought by using teeter games, building your understanding of contact end-behavior criteria, and building your dog’s confidence and drive over contacts. Continuing Contacts students will advance their progression on back-chaining to full height contacts, increasing lateral and forward handler movement and proofing their dog’s contact end-behavior with distractions, distance, movement, and speed.     These Double Box exercises will walk you through Greg Derrett's handling foundations and positional cues to help you understand how your position as a handler and the consistency of the handling system you choose will benefit your dog over his/her career. We will discuss various double box exercises to help you improve your timing on various front crosses, rear crosses, threadles, acceleration and deceleration.   • Does your dog skip poles or have difficulty hitting weave pole entries at speed? Does your dog negotiate weave poles slowly? Would you like to improve your dog's confidence in weave pole execution?  If you answered yes to any of these questions this class is perfect for you and your dog. It will focus primarily on the dog's task of using correct foot placement to properly enter, execute, and complete the weave poles. Various grids inspired by Susan Salo will aid your dog in rehearsing more balance and fluidity in the performance of this obstacle.
