Months 1-2: Getting Started:

These two months focus on setting a strong foundation for your dog by attending Adult Manners or Beginner Puppy School. It includes a lecture and introductory training, providing essential skills and behaviors that will benefit them throughout their life.
LECTURE: Please select a MANDATORY lecture date to attend. This lecture is the first week of your class and is approximately 2 hours in length. The in-person lecture must be attended prior to the class start date selected and includes a Q&A session. If you are absolutely unable to attend an in-person lecture listed, please select the pre-recorded virtual option.
You will learn important training fundamentals that will build the foundation for a rewarding, life-long relationship with your dog. You will encourage, maximize and maintain your dog’s interest, concentration, enthusiasm, and commitment to engaged interaction with you. This class includes the basics of crate training, dealing with unsolicited jumping, separation anxiety, basic obedience cues, play exercises, self-control games, confidence/focus building exercises and more. Class size is limited and meets once a week for 1 hour.
PREREQUISITE: For dogs over 4 months of age. This class will use and teach the importance of crate training.
EQUIPMENT REQUIRED: Gentle Leader® Head Collar, a Freedom No-Pull Harness, Easy-Walk Harness OR a SENSE-ation® Softouch™ Harness
These may be purchased at Think Pawsitive on Week #1. No other brands are adequate or acceptable for the results you’ll want to achieve. This item MUST be purchased and brought to class on Week #2 for proper fitting.
PLEASE NOTE: The use of crates and crate games are a significant part of our curriculum. Both treat and toy rewards are used extensively to reinforce dogs for desired behaviors.
You will learn important training fundamentals that are critical for your puppy’s development and will build the foundation for a rewarding, life-long relationship with your puppy. You will encourage, maximize and maintain your puppy’s interest, concentration, enthusiasm, and commitment to engaged interaction with you. This class includes the basics of crate training, housebreaking, nipping, chewing, jumping, separation anxiety, basic obedience cues, play exercises, self-control games, confidence/focus building exercises and more. Class size is limited and meets once a week for 75 minutes.
PREREQUISITE: For puppies 8-16 weeks. This class will use and teach the importance of crate training.
EQUIPMENT REQUIRED: Gentle Leader® Head Collar, a Freedom No-Pull Harness, OR a SENSE-ation® Softouch™ Harness
