NOTE: The class will be divided into two groups. One will consist of students who have never trained directionals at all. The other group will consist of students who have previously taken this workshop. Your dog should have good understanding of the verbal directional skills on the flat in order to be placed in the “repeaters” group.
Teach your dog left and a right directionals as well as a ‘Go’ cue to drive ahead!
Directionals are verbal cues that tell the dog to turn to their left, right or to drive ahead. These skills are great tools for anyone interested in competing in canine sports, performing fun tricks, and are great skills to teach your dog to stay mentally exercised while you physically exercise them! In the first part of this workshop, we will start the foundations of getting your dog to turn to their left and right in a full 360-degree spin. We will also teach your dog to drive ahead in a straight line with a verbal cue, ‘Go’.
In part II of this workshop, you will to advance your directionals in real life and in canine sports scenarios.
